Welcome!

Welcome to Double the Fun where I’ll be grumbling about, I mean celebrating, having 2 kids 17 months apart!  It’s not always sunshine and roses but it’s definitely fun and exciting.  There’s always something going on, something new happening with both of them.  It’s really an entertaining time.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s draining and frustrating but I am in awe of both of them on a regular basis so it makes it worth it.
So, first things first.  My daughter, whom I’ll refer to as K, is 23 months old.  My son, whom I’ll refer to as T, is 6 months old.  I’ve been married for 7 years (married young though at the ripe old age of 23).  I got pregnant with my daughter after several failed pregnancies in year and after we had her we couldn’t decide whether or not to have a second.  Well, that decision was made for us when she was just 8 months old!  Boy is that a shocker!  Well, sort of.  You sometimes know when you’ve “messed up”.  Thought it was a different week than it was.  Oops!
Now, here we are with two under the age of two.  Two in diapers.  Two who can’t tell you exactly what they want to tell you.  Two who scream for reasons you may or may not know.  Two who don’t want to or can’t eat the things you want to eat.  Two who can’t get themselves dressed.  Two who can’t get in and out of the car on their own.  Two who love you unconditionally.  Two who smile at you for no reason other than you smiled at them.  Two who depend on you for almost everything.  Two!
Yes, I understand that it’s not 4 or 8 or 21 kids.  Two is the norm right?  But, from what I can tell, a lot of people have kids about 2-3 years apart.  Seventeen months, less than a year and a half, is fairly close.  When you look at it, 17 months isn’t that far away from 24 months, but in toddler times it’s a huge age difference!  But, this is where we are.  And you know what?  We’re dealing with it.  It’s not horrible.  It’s not the hardest thing ever known to man.  But, as I said before, there’s always something.
So, here’s to hoping you stick around and can relate to what’s going on over here in la la land!  I’ll be sure to share it all with you!  No holds barred.  I hope to make you laugh and nod your head in agreement!
